Day 1- 2: Umag and the Istrian hinterland


Umag is one of the ancient towns that wealthy Romans set it up as a summer getaway. The old age of the town is visible in the architecture of the city.

The hinterland of Istria The roads will lead you through the medieval towns of Grožnjan and Motovun. Grožnjan is a city of artists where concerts and art manifestations are held on regular, while Motovun is known for the truffles and the film festival.


Sleep: Campsites of Umag, Savudrija, Motovun and Novigrad



Day 3 - 4: Rovinj, Fažana, Brijuni, Pula and Kamenjak

Rovinj is one of the most romantic cities of the Adriatic. Take a stroll down the ancient Roman streets and enjoy the sunset.



Fažana is the starting point to the visit of National park Brijuni. You can enjoy the amazingly green flora and fauna or visit Tito’s summer residence, where he hosted some of the world's most powerful people.

 

 

Pula, 3000 years old city with one of the most beautiful amphitheatres in the world. There are a number of events at the Arena every year so make sure you find something for yourself.  

 

 

Cape Kamenjak For the best beaches in Istra, head to Cape Kamenjak. A natural park with numerous beaches and crystal clear waters. Stop by the Safari bar for their famous Sangria.

Day 5 - 6: Plitvice lakes

 

Plitvice lakes The park is a mix of 16 lakes whose cascades deserved UNESCO World Heritage list. The untouched turquoise lakes tucked away in thick green vegetation will leave a lasting impression and a deep desire come back.

Day 7: Postojna Cave and Ljubljana



Predjama Castle, Postojna. An incredible fortress built inside a cave, there are guided tours available, but remember to pack a jumper, it can be cold inside.


Postojna Caves. This is Slovenia’s most famous cave. Take a memorable train ride through the cave and meet the baby dragons. If you choose the train, be prepared to duck, it can be quite tight in places!
